When you hear the words “you are better” it’s stranger than you’d think.
It takes seconds for the sound to translate into joy.
Those seconds take longer than you’d think.
Then the questions come tumbling out like children at the start of recess.
This is good! This is very good!
This is holy cow and hallelujah good!
This is all we hoped for, prayed for, asked for and begged to be true.
This is my world righting a bit.
This means I’ll see improvement and get better and better for two more years!
This means no more drugs and disease.
It worked. It really worked.
The words “thank you” seem so small…
